Housing for older people
Meeting longer term needs
Older People’s Accommodation (formerly known as Sheltered Accommodation) is independent housing exclusively for people over the age of 55.
Properties allow you to live securely and independently in the knowledge that help, support and a social network is there if you need it.
Accommodation consists of self-contained flats and studios and some properties provide communal areas such as a lounge to be able to socialise.
Care is not included, so this type of housing is not suitable for those who need on site carers.
There are a few schemes with site wardens during office hours, but the majority do not provide for this.
