For this job role, you will be working in the Housing Advice, Information and Assessment service and will be focused on the provision of essential support to individuals seeking housing assistance.
In this job role you will:
- Process referrals for Housing Advisers
- Negotiate with landlords to maintain tenancies
- Conduct thorough checks on Income & Expenditure and benefits calculations
- Assist service users in completing applications
- Use cold calling techniques to identify potential properties
We are looking for someone who has:
- Prior experience in a similar housing support role
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of housing policies, tenancy laws and support services
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Housing Options & Tenancy Sustainment Officer (Ex-Offenders)

For this job role, you will be working in the Housing Advice, Information and Assessment service and will be focused on supporting ex-offenders to resolve homelessness, sustain tenancies and improve wellbeing.
In this job role you will:
- Provide floating support to a caseload of ex-offenders
- Develop and review person centred support plans
- Provide advice and guidance on support services and benefits available
- Support and empower service users to attend relevant appointments
- Support service users to secure accommodation
We are looking for someone who has:
- A good understanding of Housing Options and Legislation including benefit entitlement
- Significant experience of providing information & advice to members of the public in a complex environment
- Experience of motivational interviewing
- Experience of working with ex-offenders

For this job role, you will be working in the Housing Advice, Information and Assessment Service to help deliver an effective and efficient Homelessness Prevention and Statutory Homelessness assessment service to meet the needs of service users.
In this job role you will:
- Assess eligibility for accommodation and be responsible for making complex decisions as to whether a statutory homelessness duty applies
- Issue robust decision letters aligned with legislation
- Provide advice in areas such as Security of Tenure, Possessions Proceedings, Housing Options and Welfare Benefits
- Take a casework approach to seek out solutions
We are looking for someone who has:
- In-depth working knowledge of Part VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended)
- Significant experience of making complex homelessness decisions
- Good working knowledge of Housing Options and legislation
- Ability to interpret and explain complex legislation and guidance
- Demonstrable customer-focused attitude
