Existing council tenants can buy their home at a discounted price

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Right to Buy scheme, you must:

  • Be a tenant of a local authority or housing association, or have been a local authority tenant when your home was sold to your current landlord for at least three years
  • Not live in sheltered or other specialist housing for elderly or disabled people

If you meet these criteria, then you may be eligible for the scheme.

How much discount will I get?

The discount you get will depend on where you live and how many years you have been a tenant. You can calculate your potential discount using the Right to Buy Discount Calculator.

How do i apply?

Sutton Housing Partnership deals with all Right to Buy applications.

  1. Complete a Right to Buy Application Form
  2. Send it to your landlord
